Calif. man, 22, allegedly stabbed 5 at Thunder Valley Casino
Five people were stabbed Wednesday night inside a restaurant at Thunder Valley Casino, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies responded around 7 p.m. to a reported stabbing at Dos Coyotes Border Cafe inside the Lincoln-area casino, according to the Sheriff’s Office news release.
“Within minutes,” according to the Sheriff’s Office, suspect Joseph Naugle, 22, was taken into custody. He was booked into the Placer County jail on suspicion of attempted murder, jail records show. All five victims and Naugle were employees of Dos Coyotes, and Naugle appeared to know all of the victims, the sheriff’s office confirmed to SFGATE Thursday. The stabbing took place in the restaurant’s kitchen, according to KCRA-TV.
One victim was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, the Sheriff’s Office said. Four others were treated at the scene by Thunder Valley Casino EMTs and Cal Fire personnel. None of the five victims suffered life-threatening injuries.

No other suspects were being sought and there was “no outstanding threat to the public,” the Sheriff’s Office said in its statement Wednesday.

Detectives remained at the casino Wednesday night as the investigation continued.
