BART train schedules changing permanently starting Monday
Almost all trains will be impacted, even by just a few minutes, as a new BART schedule goes into effect on Monday. The goal, according to BART, is to “enhance reliability and reduce wait times for some riders.”

The changes originate from the Daly City station, which BART called a “choke point for train congestion and service volatility,” in a press release. The station serves as a yard for trains being taken out of service, and issues there can have “ripple effects on the entire system,” BART said. Starting Monday, Daly City station will become a “center platform station,” which means all trains bound for San Francisco will leave from one platform.
Trains arriving at platform three will exit service and go to the yard. Yellow and red lines trains will board on platforms one and two, so they are no longer delayed by trains leaving service at the end of the line.
As a result, train times will now be more evenly spaced. For example, yellow line and red line trains will be spaced 10 minutes apart, instead of 5 and 15 minutes as they were before. Green and blue line trains will be spaced from 8 to 12 minutes apart, instead of 3 and 17 minutes. This means transfers could also be closer together, depending on your route.

BART recommends all commuters check the new timetables before their next ride, as their usual time may have changed by a few minutes.
