Runners will participate in several races, including a 5K, a 10K, two half-marathons and a full marathon, all of which will bring street closures around the city. There are three events on Saturday, July 25, but the majority of the closures will be for the five races on Sunday, including the full marathon that will thread its way across San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge to Fort Baker and back.
Street closures along the 26.2-mile route will start at 9 p.m. on Saturday, lasting until 3 p.m. on Sunday, according to a San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency news release. Some Muni buses and the F Market streetcar have been rerouted to account for closures; full details are in Muni’s release.
Starting at the Ferry Building, full marathon participants will follow the route along the Embarcadero and through North Beach and the Marina before crossing the Golden Gate Bridge. Runners will then travel back across the bridge through the Presidio and Golden Gate Park, and then through -HaightAshbury, Lower Haight, the Mission, Potrero Hill and Dogpatch, before reaching the finish line at Rincon Park.
