34-year-old woman vanishes after leaving California hospital
Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department are seeking public assistance in locating 34-year-old Amy Edmonds, the office announced this week.

According to the department’s July 8 news release, Edmonds, who has medical and mental conditions that require medication, was last seen leaving the Coast Plaza Hospital in Norwalk, a town about 15 miles away from Los Angeles, on June 28 at 2:45 p.m. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a black backpack and a blue jacket. She’s white, 5-foot-4, weighing 140 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes. Because of her conditions, LASD considers Edmonds an at-risk individual.
Anyone with information about Edmonds’ disappearance is encouraged to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau, Missing Persons Detail, at 323-890-5500. Anonymous information can also be submitted via the LA Crime Stoppers website.
The LASD could not provide more information to SFGATE by the time of publication.
