Hayward police are seeking a distinctive-looking suspect in an alleged kidnapping attempt that happened in broad daylight on Friday.<\/p>

According to Hayward police, a woman was walking near the Hayward DMV on Soto Road shortly after 3 p.m. While she was walking down\u00a0Soto, a man going the opposite direction passed by. He then \u201csuddenly grabbed\u201d her and began pulling her away, police said. She fought and screamed, drawing the attention of two nearby witnesses. The good Samaritans \u201cimmediately intervened,\u201d causing the suspect to run away, police said.<\/p><\/div>

The man was approximately 5-foot-7 and 120 pounds, with \u201cbushy\u201d hair and \u201cunique-colored eyes.\u201d \u201cWitnesses described him as resembling a \u2018Justin Bieber look-alike,\u2019\u201d Hayward police said in a statement. He was wearing a white T-shirt with red paint, black pants and a black cross-body bag, and witnesses reported seeing him escaping southbound on Soto Road. The woman said she did not know the man who attacked her.<\/p><\/div>

\u201cThe Hayward Police Department would like to thank the Good Samaritans whose quick actions helped bring this incident to an end and likely prevented further harm to the victim,\u201d the department said in a statement.<\/p>
