He capped the Phillies\u2019 big inning with a 457-foot drive to almost the same spot off Cionel Perez.<\/p><\/div><div><\/div><div><p>Schwarber added a two-run homer in the seventh, his major league-leading 28th of the season, off Tobias Myers. It was the fifth career three-homer game for Schwarber, who was 4 for 5 with six RBIs and four runs scored in a season-high offensive output for the Phillies.<\/p><\/div><div><p>Cristopher S\u00e1nchez (9-3) allowed one earned run in six innings to lower his ERA to 1.80. It\u2019s his 23rd straight start at Citizens Bank Park in which he allowed two earned runs or fewer, the second-most such starts by a pitcher at the same ballpark in MLB history since 1913, trailing only Jacob deGrom\u2019s 24 at Citi Field for the Mets from Sept. 9, 2019 to Aug. 31, 2022.<\/p><\/div><div><p>Schwarber is the 67th player in major league history and second this season with multiple home runs in an inning, joining Houston\u2019s Yordan Alvarez on June 12. Schwarber is the fourth Phillies player to hit two home runs in an inning, along with Trea Turner (Aug. 19, 2023), Von Hayes (June 11, 1985) and Andy Seminick (June 2, 1949).<\/p><\/div><div><p>Harper hit a solo home run in the first inning, his 16th of the year. He doubled and singled in the third, then hit a two-run triple to the gap in left-center field in the fifth for his first career cycle and the 11th in Phillies history.<\/p><\/div><div><\/div><div><p>Peralta allowed 10 hits and a career-worst 10 earned runs in 2 2\/3 innings. His ERA rose from 3.90 to 4.83.<\/p><\/div><div><p>TIGERS 4, WHITE SOX 1<\/p><\/div><div><p>DETROIT (AP) \u2014 Troy Melton allowed one hit in six innings and the Detroit Tigers\u2019 offense came alive late in a 4-1 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Saturday.<\/p><\/div><div><p>Dillon Dingler had two hits, including a home run, and drove in two runs as Detroit won its second straight game after losing four of five.<\/p><\/div><div><\/div><div><p>Melton (4-0) gave up a homer to Sam Antonacci on his second pitch of the game but allowed only four more baserunners \u2014 on three walks and a hit batter. He struck out five while allowing two or fewer runs for the fourth time in five starts this season.<\/p><\/div><div><p>Two Tigers relievers finished, with Kenley Jansen pitching the ninth for his ninth save.<\/p><\/div><div><p>REDS 10, YANKEES 2<\/p><\/div><div><p>NEW YORK (AP) \u2014 Sal Stewart tied a career high with six RBIs and Cincinnati pulled away for a rout of New York.<\/p><\/div><div><\/div><div><p>The rookie gave the Reds the lead with a two-run double in the third off Will Warren (7-2) and lifted a sacrifice fly during a four-run fifth that followed a fielding error by New York first baseman Ben Rice.<\/p><\/div><div><p>Stewart capped his day with a bases-clearing double in the eighth that expanded Cincinnati\u2019s lead to 9-1.<\/p><\/div><div><p>He also drove in six on April 15 against the San Francisco Giants.<\/p><\/div><div><p>Spencer Steer hit a three-run homer in the fifth as the Reds won for the sixth time in 17 games without Elly De La Cruz, who began a minor league rehab assignment on Friday.<\/p><\/div><div><\/div><div><p>Rookie Edwin Arroyo had four hits and reached base five times as the Reds finished with 15 hits.<\/p><\/div><div><p>Cincinnati starter Andrew Abbott (4-5) allowed one run and five hits in five-plus innings.<\/p><\/div><div><p>BLUE JAYS 8, CUBS 6<\/p><\/div><div><p>CHICAGO (AP) \u2014 Kazuma Okamoto hit a three-run home run to cap a five-run eighth inning and Toronto rallied from a five-run deficit to beat Chicago.<\/p><\/div><div><\/div><div><p>Daulton Varsho returned from the 10-day injured list and added a three-run shot as Toronto won for the fourth time in five games.<\/p><\/div><div><p>Matt Shaw and Pete Crow-Armstrong homered for the Cubs, who wasted a 5-0 lead in the late innings and missed a chance to win their third straight.<\/p><\/div><div><p>Chicago\u2019s Jacob Webb (1-2) came on with two on in the eighth and gave up consecutive RBI singles to Alejandro Kirk and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to tie the game at 5-all.<\/p><\/div><div><p>Okamoto then sent his 16th homer of the season deep into the left-field bleachers to give the Blue Jays the lead for good. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) \u2014 Dylan Crews homered in the ninth inning, C.J. Abrams also hit a solo homer and Washington beat Tampa Bay.<\/p><\/div><div><\/div><div><p>The Nationals look to win a franchise record-tying sixth consecutive road series when the teams finish off the three-game set Sunday.<\/p><\/div><div><p>Mitchell Parker (3-3) worked 2 1\/3 innings of scoreless relief, and Brad Lord threw three shutout innings. Clayton Beeter finished for his fifth save, striking out Ben Williamson with the tying run on second base to end it.<\/p><\/div><div><p>Ian Seymor (3-1) took the loss, allowing three runs on seven hits. But despite loading the bases in each of the first two innings and allowing six hits, Cavalli limited the damage to two runs.<\/p><\/div><div><\/div><div><p>PADRES 6, RANGERS 4, 10 INNINGS<\/p><\/div><div><p>ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) \u2014 Manny Machado hit a three-run homer, his 13th this season, in the 10th inning and tied his season high of five RBIs, helping San Diego rally for a victory over Texas.<\/p><\/div><div><p>The Padres still have a chance to win their seventh consecutive series against the Rangers after their 16th victory in the past 19 games against Texas. San Diego came back from a 3-1 deficit in the eighth a day after losing the series opener 9-7 despite scoring five runs in the top of the first.<\/p><\/div><div><p>Machado had an RBI double in the third, and his run-scoring groundout got the Padres within 3-2 in the eighth before Jackson Merrill\u2019s tying single.<\/p><\/div><div><\/div><div><p>Jake Burger\u2019s two-run homer gave the Rangers a 3-1 lead in the seventh after Texas had pulled even on consecutive doubles from Josh Jung and Wyatt Langford an inning earlier.<\/p><\/div><div><p>Joe Ross (0-1), the sixth Texas pitcher, walked Samad Taylor while the speedy No. 2 hitter was trying to bunt for the third time in the game to start the 10th.
