Customers who are eligible for the cash will be notified by email or mail, according to the settlement, and there isn\u2019t a portal yet to use to file a claim.<\/p><\/div><div><p>The \u00a0settlement, which the company reached the Tuesday, stems from a class-action lawsuit filed last year that alleged Apple misled its customers in 2024 when advertising the iPhone 16. Filed in the Northern District of California, the complaint alleged that at Apple\u2019s 2024 Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple touted its new AI features for the upcoming iPhone and continued to advertise the features through commercials.\u00a0<\/p><\/div><div><p>\u201cFor many, this marked the first compelling reason in years to spend over $800 on a new iPhone,\u201d the lawsuit stated.<\/p><\/div><div><div><div><div><div><div><svg><desc>SF Gate Logo<\/desc><\/svg><\/div><\/div><div><svg><\/svg><\/div><svg><\/svg><\/div><\/div><h3><div>Don&#8217;t let Google decide who you trust.<\/div><\/h3><div>Make SFGATE a preferred source so your search results prioritize writing by actual people, not AI.<\/div><div>Add Preferred Source<\/div><\/div><\/div><div><p>After the iPhone 16 launched in September, 2024, it did not have \u201cApple Intelligence\u201d or an \u201cEnhanced Siri\u201d as it advertised, the lawsuit stated.
