A 17-year-old boy died after a car with eight teenagers total rolled over and crashed on a quiet road in Southern California this past weekend,\u00a0authorities announced on Sunday.<\/p>

On June 7, around 2:30 a.m., emergency personnel and officials from the Adelanto sheriff\u2019s station in San Bernardino County responded to the intersection of Rancho Road and Lilac Road in Adelanto. According to the Sunday news release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff\u2019s Department, eight teenagers were in a 2013 Dodge Charger traveling at an \u201cexcessive speed\u201d when the driver lost control near the intersection and crashed. The car went off the road and rolled on its side, and at least one of the occupants was ejected upon impact, the release says. Though it\u2019s unclear how many of the teens were hospitalized, one occupant, a 17-year-old boy, died from his injuries, a sheriff\u2019s department spokesperson told\u00a0SFGATE Monday. The boy\u2019s identity has not yet been released.<\/p><\/div>

After the crash, authorities shut down the road for six hours while investigators from the sheriff\u2019s department\u2019s Regional Major Accident Investigative Team conducted interviews and gathered evidence.\u00a0<\/p><\/div>
