A San Francisco gaming store has suffered a string of burglaries over the past few months, and in a twist, they may have all been perpetrated by the same person. Game Post, located on Third Street near Oracle Park, opened in 2017 by Diana Goldman, with her daughter being the sole full-time employee. The shop sells a wide variety of board and card games.<\/p>

The trouble began in March, when someone took a collectible vintage Magic: The Gathering T-shirt off one of the walls and ran from the store. A chase ensued, and the T-shirt was retrieved, but the event became the catalyst for what Goldman alleges are a related series of crimes, based on video evidence gathered at the store.<\/p><\/div>

\u201cThat was the trigger for this guy going on this rampage of vengeance. \u2026 I\u2019m 98% sure it\u2019s the same guy,\u201d Goldman told SFGATE.<\/p><\/div>

The next event was on March 17, when a burglar broke one of the doors to the shop and made off with boxes of Magic: The Gathering cards, accessories and some Pokemon products. After the doors were repaired, there was a second burglary on April 26, which led Goldman to add metal bars to the doors.<\/p><\/div>

\u201cIt\u2019s awful. I was waking up in the middle of the night and checking the cameras to make sure nothing happened, that\u2019s how I found the second one,\u201d Goldman said.<\/p><\/div>

Next, on May 16, someone broke the front window but did not enter. Then on the next attempt, on May 28, someone came in through a skylight. A neighbor saw the person on the roof and called the police, who arrived on the scene to find the person hiding with bags full of inventory, worth upward of $4,000, but unable to exit the store due to locks on the doors. Goldman arrived around 4 a.m. to find the suspect in custody and praised the San Francisco Police Department\u2019s actions.<\/p><\/div>

Goldman asserts that the events led to roughly $5,000 in damages to the store and over $5,000 in lost merchandise (boxes of Magic cards retail for $169-$250 each).<\/p>
