More than a year after a young mother of two was found dead in her ex-boyfriend\u2019s home in California, her missing children have been located and reunited with their family, the FBI\u2019s Sacramento office announced this week.<\/p>

In July 2024, 28-year-old Angelica Bravo was found deceased inside her ex-boyfriend Camron Lee\u2019s home in Sacramento, and their two children\u00a0\u2014 Athena Lee, aged 4 at the time, and Mateo Lee, who was nearly 3\u00a0\u2014 went missing. Following an autopsy, officials couldn\u2019t determine Bravo\u2019s exact cause of death, but they noted several abrasions and contusions along her face, torso and extremities. Asphyxiation by smothering could not be ruled out. In 2024, Lee was charged with four counts of possession of an assault weapon, and he was charged with murder by the Sacramento County Superior Court in March 2025.<\/p><\/div>

Two days after she was found dead, Lee\u2019s car reportedly crossed the Mexican border, where it was later found abandoned in\u00a0Ensenada, a port city on the Baja California peninsula. Following a single tip, officials arrested Lee in Baja California, Mexico, on May 17, recovering Athena and Mateo Lee and reuniting them with their family after a multiagency search effort.<\/p><\/div>

\u201cToday marks another step forward in the pursuit of justice for Angelica Bravo, her family, and all those impacted by her murder in July 2024,\u201d Zachary Bales, a deputy chief of the Sacramento Police Department, said in the news release.\u00a0<\/p><\/div>

\u201cOur thoughts remain with Ms. Bravo\u2019s family and loved ones,\u201d Bales continued, \u201cand we hope this development brings them a measure of solace as they continue to carry this profound loss.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>
