New homeowners find human remains after buying California property
On the evening of Friday, June 26, Apple Valley deputies responded to the 19000 block of Crest Drive after receiving reports of human remains on a newly purchased property, a recent news release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department says.

Upon arrival, “detectives, along with the Coroner’s Division and Crime Scene Specialists, searched the area and collected multiple bones,” the release continues. The remains show no signs of obvious trauma and have yet to be identified. The investigation is ongoing, and those with more information are urged to call the homicide department at 909-890-4904.
This isn’t the only time unidentified human remains have been reported in San Bernardino County this year.
On May 27, deputies at the Highland station recovered an adult-sized humerus at a location that was getting surveyed at the intersection of Greenspot Road and Alta Vista, the sheriff’s department announced. Officials said that the remains would undergo forensic examination and asked the public for assistance in providing more information about the skeletal remains.

Apple Valley officials were unable to provide more information about the June 26 case to SFGATE at the time of publication.
