On Tuesday afternoon around 4 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting on the 2800 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard. Though authorities did not disclose exactly where the shooting occurred, the location is close to a Bloomingdale’s, a Bank of America, several eateries and Santana Row, a popular shopping area.

When police arrived on the scene, they found a person with at least one gunshot wound. The person was taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition, SJPD said.

Police believe a “road rage incident” is what led to the shooting. Authorities recovered a firearm and arrested a suspect found in the area, the statement said.

Some Reddit users said that the shooting happened near the Bank of America and caused a temporary lockdown at Valley Fair. SJPD did not confirm those details to SFGATE.

Police said the shooting is an active investigation.

Tuesday’s shooting also comes after three people were shot last year on Black Friday inside the mall. A 17-year-old was charged in connection with the shooting that allegedly stemmed from a conflict between rival gangs, SFGATE previously reported.
