Roseville resident Michael Young Han, 57, was found on Wednesday morning near Rodeo Beach and Hawk Tail Beach Cove, according to a Thursday news release from the coroner division of the Marin County Sheriff’s Office.
A hiker called 911 around 9:14 a.m. on Wednesday after spotting an unresponsive man at the base of the cliff, officials said. Land and marine crews were dispatched to the area, where steep, rugged terrain made reaching the location difficult.
Emergency personnel pronounced Han dead at the scene and did not attempt resuscitation, according to the coroner division. Crews later moved his body from the area to a place where the U.S. Park Police and the county’s coroner division could begin their investigation into the cause of death.
