3.4-magnitude quake near Brentwood shakes Contra Costa County
An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.4 shook throughout the eastern end of Contra Costa County at approximately 12:25 a.m. Pacific time on Saturday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake had a depth of about 11.1 miles. The closest Bay Area city to its epicenter was Brentwood, roughly 5.5 miles away. Other cities near to the epicenter were Blackhawk (6.9 miles), Clayton (8.8 miles) and Byron (8.9 miles).
The U.S. Geological Survey’s Did You Feel It? report shows the earthquake was felt from Sebastopol to Los Gatos, from Pacifica to Pleasanton and Danville, to as far east as Stockton. No injuries or damage were initially reported.
