Massive Central Valley grass fire balloons to 3,600 acres
A massive grass fire in the Central Valley is continuing to grow on Thursday morning amid dry air and temperatures in the triple digits.

The Alpaugh Fire ignited Wednesday afternoon near the intersection of Avenue 42 and Road 38 in Alpaugh, at one point prompting evacuation warnings for the entire town. As of Thursday morning, the fire has exploded to 3,600 acres, according to Cal Fire, but evacuation warnings have been lifted as of 8:37 a.m.
According to a Facebook post from the Tulare County Fire Department, the agency in charge of the blaze, the fire was at 30% containment on Wednesday night and no injuries were reported. No structures were destroyed or damaged but several poles and fences were damaged.

A video posted by the department shows thick black plumes of sky blanketing the entire sky and the fire burns.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
